Directory Entries alerts on cache vol in NW6.5 NewsGroup
41
Hi,

Can anyone confirm that this Directory Entries alert on a cache volume
(traditional, 8gb, no long name space, no compression, etc etc as per
recommendations) is cosmetic? I've tried to disable the alert by making the
trigger threshholds very very low, but it still generates alerts.

In an earlier thread someone wrote:
"You can write a batchfile creating some thousand dummy files and then
delete them again to correct this IMHO cosmetic error."

So if I made a batch file that created loads of tiny text files on the cache
volume, then deleted them all, would that fix the problem?

Thanks,

Steve Law

Backup Novell Groupwise with Veritas Backup Exec for Netware NewsGroup
00
Hello

We have two Novell Netware 6.0 SP5 and Novell Cluster 1.6.
We have four virtual servers on Novell Cluster.
We have Novell Groupwise 6.5 SP2 on one virtual server.

We want to back up Novell Groupwise with gwtsa with Veritas Backup Exec for
Netware V 9.1.

Problem is that we cannot select Novell Groupwise from Virtual Server but
only from Node which currently has groupwise loaded. That means if groupwise
is moved to secondary server than backup of groupwise fails.

We can successfully backup cluster volumes and select it from Virtual
servers. But not groupwise databases.

What can we do ?

Regards
Roman Lenarsic

Maximum Size of To:, Cc:, and Bc: values NewsGroup
30
I have a user that has reported that the Windows GW 6.5.2 client does not
allow more that 88 internet address in the Bc: field. My guess that this
is about 2048 characters, or close to it. Is there a limitation of the
number of characters for any of these values? Does the RFC state a
maximum value?

Thanks for your help.

search for "pending" sent items NewsGroup
12

is there any way to search for a sent message that gwia has not yet
"transferred"?

got a user complaining about the fact that it takes 4 days for the
system to notify her that she mis-spelled someone's address. If the
misspelled domain name has an mx record, but no mail server
functioning, gwia keeps trying every hour for 4 days (or is it 3?),
then returns the message to the sender. I don't want to change the
default setting on gwia, as its there for a reason. but I was thinking
it might be handy to be able to create a "search folder" that would
quickly find any such glitch. I know, you can just look at the icons
next to the "sent items" list, but its not as easy to pick up from a
quick scan. anyway, can't seem to find the attribute in the advanced
search.

TSAFS and HP Open View NewsGroup
00
Im sure Im alone on this one, but has anyone had any experience using HP
OpenView DataProtector 5.1 with the TSAFS.NLM? We are currently running
Netware 6 SP3 and backing these servers up with DataProtector 5.1 which is
using TSA600 with not problems. We are going to install SP5 for NW6 which I
understand replaces TSA600 with TSAFS. I really dont want to hose our backup
if I don't have to. Is there a way to still use TSA600 after SP5?
