Communityzero is a mature portal of portals style community system which we are using as a model to build either a set of DNN modules or a modified core. I strongly encourage DNN'ers to study www.communityzero.com for in my experience they have developed one of the finest reference portal systems for ideas in furthering this development.

To the core team:
Has anyone evaluated their style of membership management system and portal affliation for v2.x?

They are a few generations ahead of this Open Source Project but provide an excellent reference model for where i believe this development will eventually lead to.

Does anyone know of any modules that handle mulit-portal membership and portal to portal affinity?

Affiliate Portal Management Module

Basic Affiliate Portal Linking allowing members from one portal to automatically gain entry to another portal at a predefined security group level.

In essence two portal on two seperate networks and / or core foundations would simply link at the portal owner level.

Example would be a student union child portal at MIT owned by John Doe in MA can setup a affiliate link to a Student Union Portal at UCLA owned by Jane doe.

This would be accomplished by Jane or John sending out a portal affiliation request and adding the portal ID to a affiliate table.

As a result members in each of the respective portals can link through and gain access to content and info without leaving their portal. The possibilities for shadowing content and workflow are immense.

Portal affiliation would be relatively easy to accomplish in one DNN installation (similiar to communityzero's implemntation) but the power and challenge would be to allow for portal affiliation across DNN sites.

Think of the possibilities this would open up to the whole DNN development community?
