Hi,

I am trying to import 3 ppt slides into the library with Flash 8 pro. It
showed that "One or more files are not imported because there were problems
reading them"

Can anyone help me?

Thanks a lot!

Esther

Try outputting the ppt slides out of MSPP as jpegs and then import them into
your flash library to use.

Might be some settings FLash does not like or can't parse during the import
process. Just a guess.

Hmmm, when I go to Import, there are many file types - though PPT is not one
of them. Use a format Flash can read.

Or try converting the PPT to PDF and then export JPG or PNG from that for import into Flash.

What I did is to convert the ppt to jpg (just did save as jpg from ppt), but the characters are not clear as ppt, some are messed up, especially the horizontal strokes.........

It sound like the jpeg that PPT makes is being distorted by flash or just isn't
giving flash what it needs. I know this is a pain but try opening the jpeg into
Photoshop or fireworks and see if the image looks good there if it does save it
using the jpg compression filter at 100% out of these programs. This is purely
to see what is happening with the jpeg on the way out of PPT.

Then try importing the new saved jpg into flash.

Also before you do this make sure you are exporting out PPT at the highest you
can.

I aways save jpgs at 100% quality and use Flash to compress it more if I need.

I just noticed that after I imported the jpg into Flash, they showed as bitmap. Therefore the quality of the image is poor.

Do you know how to fix it?

Thanks

jpgs are a bitmap based (raster image) file format (type) anything that uses
pixels will show up in teh library as a bitmap (type).

If you double click the image in the library it will open the bitmap
properties box. If the file that it lists says yourfilename.jpg it is a jpg.

Did you fix the distortion? If not did you run the tests?
