Am I missing something, Commerce Starter kit

Ok, I have the commerce starter kit working. My question is, is there a way to add thing, with out adding them directly to the databases.

For instance catagories?

It seems as if there should be an administrative tab or something.

There is no administration built in to the kit. An easy way to do additions is use Access if you have it on your computer. I do that for the development, then use an admin web based DB editing page when live.
