DNN on intranet

Dear all,

I'm trying to put DNN on a intranet

I have 1 pc with w2kpro with a virual directory and DNN (Server)
1 pc with Win Xp Pro (Client)

Now, when I try to connect to DNN I receive the message:
DNN configuration error. Domain name (w2kpro/server) does not exists in the database ?

Where I'm wrong.

There's a tutorial for to develop DNN in a intranet?

Hi,

you have to set that name as the portal alias. You can set the portal alias via the portal (using the local browser on the server and connect via localhost) or directly in the database, table portals. In the admin menu look to the site settings. There is a textbox to enter the portal alias. Your alias should be w2kpro/server.

DNN needs that to find the right portal for you. There is no change between intranet and internet. It is the same procedure as you do it in the internet.

but in the admin page I see this field:

Title, logo, descriptions, Key Words, Body Background, etc.
In which field I need to input the alisa ? (if in MSDE I have \\MYPC-MSSQLServer)
in the alias field I need to input MYPC (?)

OK I found the way:

I need to connect to DNN as host

and change Portal alias from "localhost/DNN" to "MYPC/DNN"

now is working.
