SQL Server 2005 Integrated Security Question11/16/2006 4:38:32 PM

0/0

I have built a simple application involving a couple of details views, grid views, and a form views that allows me to enter information about the accessibility of the web pages in my site. It works great on my local machine and I can connect to the SQL Database which is on a different server just fine. However, when I put the pages themselves on the live server I get a Login Failed at servername\sharename$ error. I have double an triple checked that the login name and password for the database are correct, and yet I still get this error. I accepted the prompt from the data sourcs to store my connection string in the web.config file and just reference that that way. The only way I have been able to get my pages to work is to set the Integrated Securitiy attribute of the connection string to false when by default it is set to True.

Is there some setting on the server that I don't have set correctly? Is it some setting in the application itself? How can I solve this problem so that I don't have to set the integrated security to false all the time?

BTW, the live server weput our applications on does not have either sharepoint or frontpage extensions installed andit is running the latest version of IIS if that makes any difference.

Hi,

I think the Integrated Security attribute should be used when you are using trusted connections, like Windows authentication. Else it should be removed (default is false when it is not there).

Hope this helps,
