Reporting Add-In installation issue

I've downloaded and installed the "Reporting Add-In for Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005 Express" from http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/vwd/download/

I've the ReportViewer component on the VWD data components pallette and I can open .rdlc files on the VWD IDE but I miss the report template in the "New item" window.
Also, if I drop a ReportViewr contron on a page and click on the "Design a new report" in the quick task menu nothing happens.

I've installed VWD from the CD image downloaded form the MS site (no on-line installation) and I've registered it.

I've Windows installed in my D: drive (never had an issued about that).

Did I missed something?

Can you check that the item template was installed. There should be a file called report.zip in the following location: c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\VWDExpress\ItemTemplates\Web\CSharp\1033

And there should be a Visual Basic version in the path: D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\VWDExpress\ItemTemplates\Web\VisualBasic\1033

If those files are not there, I would recommend re-installing. If they are there, VS may not have been configured to recognize them. Try the following:

1) Open a cmd window (from the run menu in Windows type "cmd")

2) Navigate to D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE

3) Run the following command: VWDExpress /setup

This should configure the templates for VS to consume.

I had the same problem with my installation of Visual Web Developer on my D: drive but at first VWDExpress /setup did not help.

What worked for me was

1. After installing the report designer add-in I had to copy the files that were installed on C: to D:

2. I had to copy the report.zip from the 1033 folder to the 1031 folder

3. After that the VWDExpress /setup command helped.
