Hello

I have 3 servers on a SAN:

Servers A & B in one Cluster1 for data access. (A is normally "Master Mode"
and B is "Node Running")
Servers B & C in another Cluster2 for GroupWise. (C is "Master Node" but
iManager reports B as "Unknown Node State")

(all servers are OES2 Linux)

Cluster1 works perfectly well and fails over between servers when one is
shut down (or just swapped over within iManager).

As Cluster2 does not know the state of Server B, it won't failover.
However, in Cluster1, all is OK. I keep comparing the two and all looks
fine, but I am obviously blind as I can't see what is missing.

Any pointers would be really appreciated!

Do you really have one server that's in two separate clusters? I don't
know much about Linux-based clustering, but in NetWare that would be
impossible. Why not just have all 3 servers in the same cluster?

Hi Andrew
I wanted to manage failover for two different services - one for file access
and the other for GroupWise. It allows me to set this up and I believe I
read that you can have any number of 2-node clusters. With a 3 node
cluster, I could not see how I can failover the two different services as I
had described. I hope I have described this properly?

It's perfectly normal to have any number of failover units (services) in
a single cluster. They just have to have separate underlying file systems.
