It looks like you either did not add the connectionstring, or it is not well formed.

Hi

>It looks like you either did not add the connectionstring, or it is not well formed

Well I tried nearly everything, but I can?t get my blog running. My connection string is the following:
<DbProvider type = "Dottext.Framework.Data.SqlDataProvider, Dottext.Framework" connectionString = "Persist Security Info=True;User ID=****;Password=****;Initial Catalog=ChristophBlog;Data Source=localhost"/>

I can not create a user with dottexthelper.

My blog is giving me the following error:

Text - Application Error!
Details
A blog matching the location you requested was not found. Host = [christoph.rechsteiner.de], Application = [dottextweb]

Someone who can help me? I?m lost?

Thanks
Chris

Hey Chris,

Just to be clear, DotTextHelper has it's own config file. You need to put your connection string in both your web config AND the DotTextHelper config. The DotTextHelper config can be found in the directory with the executible.

Can someone please post a complete DotTextHelper.exe.Config file (minus your account and password of course. I can not get this right to save my life.

Thanks!

Here is a properly formatted DotTextHelper.exe.config. You need to replace PASSWORD, USERID and DATABASE with your values.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>

<appSettings>
<add key="ConnectionString" value="Password=PASSWORD;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=USERID;Initial Catalog=DATABASE;Data Source=localhost"/>
</appSettings>
</configuration>
